Sometimes the ‘heart’ has its reasons...

What happens to you when you hear the word ‘change’? Do you tense up, or get excited and feel opportunity will be knocking at your door soon? For some people the word ‘change’ can be a very scary word because with change comes commitment, growth and the possibility of accepting into our life what is unfamiliar to us at the time. When we accept change, we agree to allow new situations, and then new people and new opportunities to come into our lives on a daily basis. We begin to tap into dormant qualities that lie deep within all of us, and allow those positive qualities to become a part of our being. We let go of the old to make room for the new.

Often the need for change occurs very subtle, giving us little nudges of unhappiness, anger, sadness, confusion and frustration. However, making decisions that supports our inner desires asks each of us to stop living on autopilot and let go of the natural assumption that the intentions and choices of our consciousness rules our life. By removing consciousness from its privileged place, we begin to use our gut instincts or unconscious mind. As studies have revealed, not only does our intuition reveal insights and hidden creativity, but also holds our fears and prejudices. By removing the familiarity and rational of the conscious mind; the fast, automatic and effortless wonders of our intuition can be revealed, and lead us to where our ‘heart’ wants to go. [Myers, David G. (2007) ‘The Powers and Perils of INTUITION’, Scientific American MIND June/July: 26.]

Whether we realize it or not, our gut instincts talk to us regularly through a fleeting thought or by a feeling in our body. As we learn to listen to our intuition, a healthy mind, body and spirit connection is made. When we by-pass our intuitive instincts and evaluate things as good or bad, making a critical analysis and judgments towards people or situations, our biological wisdom is thwarted resulting in stress and physical illness.

Maintaining healthy, positive thoughts, listening to our gut instincts, and allowing situations and events to flow and unfold as they will is your first step to connecting with your inner desires. Your heart knows where it wants to go and what is best for you, sometimes before we consciously know. So, trust your instincts and flow with your life changes. And remember that help is right here at your fingertips, all you need to do is ask. Contact me and I will help you connect with your inner desires of your heart and feel safe along the way.
