Coming Alive to the Inner Self

"Plants absorb nutrients from the earth, sun and sky. To get light, they must sometimes withstand the heat. To get water, they must sometimes weather the storm. To take what they need from the soil, they must grow root systems designed to keep them stable in the shifting earth."
-Jamie Nishi

After faithfully reading and following my blog posts and website articles, you have now begun to explore a new way of thinking, perhaps consciously or unconsciously. Although many old thought patterns have not yet faded, you have now become aware of the possibilities of something more that can bring you relief of stress and pain. Getting to this point of knowing is liberating and freeing, knowing that you are not helpless to your life situation or who you are. Instead, you now recognize your inner strength and power to make positive changes inside and out. The mere understanding that you no longer have to be trapped in old patterns of behaviour promotes a "coming alive". As you come alive, no longer will you find a deep harmony within your chaos, aggression, suffering and control. Why? You are now beginning to realize that these emotions are inconsistent with what you want, understanding that your perceived happiness is merely a tolerance created from fear, confusion, embarrassment, helplessness, hopelessness and complacency to make things better. As you now begin to come alive, no longer will you tolerate incongruities within yourself and your life.

So, what do I mean by incongruities. It's very simply, I am sure we have all been around family, friends or acquaintances that say they want to have love, peace, harmony and happiness in their life, yet continue to create chaos wherever they go. What has happened unknowingly for this person is they have developed a high tolerance for incongruities, thus living life with many inconsistencies. In other words, they say one thing and do another. They hold certain values, yet do not incorporate them into their lives. However, by reading my articles you are now ready to "come alive", ready, able and willing to work through the inconsistencies that manifest itself through mental and physical pain. You are now ready to let go of your perceived vulnerabilities produced from fear, anxiety, numbness and avoidance by trusting your inner self. Although the word vulnerability has received some negative connotations, vulnerability in a healthy and positive sense of the word refers to a willingness to take chances that allow for personal growth.

Coming alive is an exciting time. No more seeking the approval of others, no more just surviving, no more dodging the bullets of another's judgment and criticism, and no more feeling numbness to your inner and outer world. Instead, say hello to your 'chaos detectors', 'anger detectors', 'suffering detectors' and 'control detectors'. You stop living on auto pilot and notice your intuition and gut. You stop accepting your incongruities and begin to recognize the inconsistencies between your desired life of love, peace and happiness as opposed to what really is. You begin to regain the ability to speak and rename your truth and share your feelings. (Remembering that for shy people, your truth and sharing your feelings are essential to making and maintaining desired relationships.) Coming alive marks the beginning of change….change in you. It marks the beginning of a process that will allow you to shine. So congratulations to all my readers who have "come alive".

To continue this process of coming alive requires help. I know I certainly needed assistance to work through my causes for tolerating unhappiness. So give me a call or send me an email. And know that courage comes from seeking help, not by tolerating your deep harmony of inconsistencies. Anyone can tolerate unhappiness until they start coming alive....
